Default Dang... need a valve job.

Headed in to KuMed Friday morning to get a tune up on my Mitral Valve. My current "heart beat" sounds like swish swish swish... no "beat" at all. 45 years old, non-smoker, ave. ht/wt.

    Wish me well.

Been in the glide path for this since late 07. Yearly cardiographs showed a decreased function of the valve causing damage to that side of the heart. Time for action. 95% chance this is a lifetime fix.

    Good luck to you.
I had that done almost 4 years ago. My mitral valve just tore in half one day. The problem was found during a routine physical.
When they were doing some tests before the operation they found I needed a triple by-pass too. I never had high colesteral (normally 166-183) and I'm not overweight so no one suspected the blockage. Doc said I wouldn't have made it another year if they hadn't found it.
Honestly the operation wasn't too bad. It was winter and I got pretty bored sitting around the house afterwards. It did take a while to get used to some of the new meds after the operation.
It truely is amazing what these docs can do.
