some of them where rotting when we dug them. The ground was bone dry so I guess the hot sun is what done it. The potatoes where hot when I picked them up. Checked them this morning and they are rotting after being dug. so never canned them before but wanted to save what I could. I never plant very many. Just some so we have some home grown ones. First batch in the canner now. Peeled them and diced them up to get as many as I could in the quart jars. Will work for potatoe salad or soup. Still have more to do. Probably wait until tomorrow to tackle the rest. It takes 40 minutes after pessure is hit.
