Hey folks, I have a tree question. I have 3 grey dogwood trees in my yard. 2 in the front yard and 1 in the backyard. they are all from a MDC conservation bundle and 4 years old. the tree in the back yard has never flowered, but the 2 in the front yard have flowered for the past 3 springs. we the 2 in the front yard seem to be confused this year because over the past 2 weeks they have budded up again and last weekend they flowered for the second time this year. actually the flowers are bigger and more plentiful that ever. dogwood flowers in august??? Am I missing something? I have talked to several people about this and no one has an answer for me. the only thing I have done to them this year is I trimmed them her awhile back because the leaves were really weighing them down and I didn't want them to break off a limb. and last winter I spread my wood stove ashes around them and my lilac bushes. the reason I did this is because I heard that the ashes help the plants flower and it worked for the lilac as this was the first year that it ever bloomed.
so I guess I told ya all that to ask you this; does mean the crappie are about to spawn again? LOL!!!
seriously though, anybody have a clue about this???
