    You have to itemize deductions to get the sales tax deduction but it has been that way for many years. I have claimed sales tax paid on a 5th wheel camper, boat and even when I added a kicker motor. All sales taxes paid to the Missouri Dept of Revenue are eligibile as far as I know.
