Default Dang it! Wake up people!

I just saw on the KY-3 online that a man drowned on the Pomme de Terre river. He wasn't wearing a life vest.

If you don't want to wear a life vest for yourself at least think of your family and wear one for them!

My prayers go out to the family.

The suspender type are a cheap investment when you at least wear them. I found with the traditional style vest I rarely wore them unless a tournament required them. Now with the new inflatable one I bought I wear it all the time. Was not cheap to purchace but at least i wear it now unlike my others I ihad.

Your right on this one. 95% of the time if the boat is under power, I have it on. Should be 100%. It only takes once.

Those inflatables MUST be worn all the time or you can get a ticket, they don't consider them to be a PFD unless worn full time.

I fell in couple years ago went down like a rock head first, didnt know which was the surface was and was acutally swiming down deeper.
Then it dawned on me, I have my life vest on, let it do the work it was suppose to do. They claimed I popped up like a bobber

Prayers for him and those who dont think they need a vest

That's what I like about the inflatables. They are comfortable enough to wear all the time. They give you room to cast and move around easier. But like it was said they can be pricey. I too only use to only wear mine when I was under power with my old style but now I wear one all the time.

    Lost another one!

A Phillipsburg man drowned in Truman Lake Wednesday night, a report from the Highway Patrol said. He was not wearing a life jacket, according to the report. The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. near Mile Marker G6 in Benton County. Him and another man were attempting to retrieve a boat that had drifted down the lake, when he began to cramp and went under water. Rescue crews arrived, but could not find him until they were able to use sonar.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
