Anyone got a Varmint rifle they want to get rid of ?

I like the "red mist" and the helicopters. I was in Montana shooting one time, had a family of 4-5 dogs lined up in a row, started on the far right and worked my way back to the left, 1 down, 2 down, then mom & dad finally figured out what happened to junior and sis, jumped down the hole. LOL

what sort of range are you looking at shooting? If it is just out to 100 to 150 yards you might look at a savage in a 17hmr. I would recommend the hollow points for coyotes unless you hold yourself to head shots only. The ballistic tips will still kill them but they will run off, crawl in a hole and die. Advantage to that is you don't have to dispose of them that way.

The 17HMR is a bit lighter than I would like just in case something bigger comes in unexpectedly:eek: I had a blast a few years ago with a friend shooting Beldings ground squirrels in California with a .17 Remington, which uses a necked down .223 case. They are about the size of a grey squirrel, but otherwise just like a prairie dog. We were in grass fields and popping them out to 350, 400 yards with ballistic tips. almost no recoil and you could see the hit through the scope.
