There are several options that driftmasters allowes you and the ones i've been around are solid built but if it were me i'd look into the new hi-tech design he has for pullin out the side,he works one on one with his customers to give you the exact set up you want.I still have my perrotti's i use to spider rig with and am using them for pullin right now but before next year i'll have a set of hi-techs made for both sides of my boat.

I also say go with the Hi-Tek's. Jeff my tournament partner has been using mine to drift fish for cats. If they hold up to that they will hold up for trolling cranks and long lining. Lots of guys here on CDC swear by them for pulling cranks. Scott is one of the best guys to work with also. I had mine custom made to the height I wanted. No extra charge. I would recommend his products to anyone. He can not be beat for price either. I have used 3 or 4 differant rod racks and did not think I would ever get rid of my Perrotti's but after seeing Bug's and Monk's setup at camp I had to try a set. Glad I did.

never lost a pole with my driftmasters. the hookset is easy. they are affordable. never broke one but I have stripped out the threads in the aluminum base. mine hold your rod horizontal and I love em for pushin or pullin cranks out of the side of the boat or drift fishin, but I wish they were somehow adjustable up and down. also, I catfish on the mo river, and my heavy-duty poles won,t fit in the small driftmasters. so after 5 years of my abuse, they are in pretty good shape, but I am looking at Monster rod holders now. I think they are a beefed up version of driftmasters and the catmen love em.

Give hi-tek a try, you wont regret it. Lightest and most durable rod holder on the market. The price is also a lot better than driftmaster and tite-lok.
