Thanks. I'd love to know what they use.
Storm chasing would be fun but I'm not brave enough!

I have ATT and I have generally had pretty good coverage. I have only been to Truman once, but I had decent coverage there. I have used them throughout Mississippi and Alabama and the coverage there was also very good. In Eastern Kansas it is also very good. So far, the only major dead spot that I have found is the one between my ears:D
Yup, those cranks from old Army field telephones really call up the catfish. They seem to be more sensitive to the electrical current than are other species. I have been with folks who have used them to collect catfish for scientific purposes- with a permit, of course.
Pete
of course! :) Permits are a must.
Thanks for the info.
I use verizon and have good service all over clintion lake and area, have not been anywhere that I couldnt get service, and the internet works great on the phone also, good luck
I still have Verizon and the same phone I had been getting good service with there and now it's not nearly as good. Something has changed. I even turn the phone off when I first get in the area for five minutes and then turn it back on. Verizon told me to do that to get re-connected to the more local towers. Still isn't helping.
Thanks, Beagle for your input. :)
well I'll be darned, they might be re working there multiplexers to get ready for 4g service. could be dropping there output for a bit, but they wont admit it, mayby might think of getting an external ant. for the auto.
I use Sprint from Sparrowfoot to Longshoal and cant remember having any troubles
Just heard back from the guys and they overwhelmingly recommended Verizon. As I mentioned earlier, I have heard a few people complain about issues exactly as you describe since Verizon and Alltel merged, so not sure what's up with that. My neighbor across the road complained about dropped calls, but I have had no problems. Could possibly be different phones have an antenna issue like Apple is experiencing with their new phone right now
Get your ham radio license and you can get a message through from almost anywhere:D It's even better than the cans and string or the crank phones:p won't call up fish though:rolleyes::D Maybe I'll hang an antenna off the back of the boat and give it a try:D
I have ATT (my wife works for them). At spring camp had trouble and had to go to the bathroom to get out. At Mark Twain been able to make calls and take them with little problem. There is a spot on 154 outside Paris I have trouble.
I think things are getting better for all the carriers and all have their quirks.
I use Verizon; no problems. Can you hear me now?:)
