    Default New Computer Virus

I've been working on my computer for a day to remove a virus called Desktop Security 2010. Finally got the dang thing off my computer. This is just a reminder to keep your anti-virus and firewall. Also there is a great anti-virus or malware program called Malwarebytes(Malwarebytes). Be sure to download the program if you don't have it. It' worked wonders on my computer to remove the virus I had. Good luck and happy crappie web surfing.

I just reread my post and realized a mistake. What I meant to say is this is a reminder to keep your anti-virus and firewall updated.

I just fought with the same darned one! Used A-Squared by Emsisoft to get rid of mine. Had another similar fake anti virus a month or so ago and Malwarebytes wouldn't recognize it, nor would the anti virus program I've used for years so started looking on C-Net for a new program

I don't understand how the people that create these things can continue to get away with it

Fella's remember to manually update the Malwarebytes every day. If not, you might not be ready for these things.
Also, another software to use is SuperAntiSpyware. It is also very good, and is compatible with Malwarebytes.
For virus protection, I have all 5 of our computers on Avast, (free version)
And with these 3 software items, one or more of them notified us when this phony virus tried to get on out machines.

probably because most of them were made in china and they hide those buggers in some crazy places. IE thumb drives Yeah you read that right thumb drives. It got so bad that the frist thing the Military does is disable all the USB drives when we get new computers. We used to use them a lot to transfer data for reports and what not. Now we are stuck using CD RW or DVD RW. That gets pretty expensive pretty fast!
