Kicked around the lake today looking for shrooms,NADA,but had to make a few casts also.Lost my roadrunner,so dug aroung my satchel to see what I had.
Came up with a packet of those .97 cent wal-mart/K-mart cheap green maribou jigs. They freaking nailed them.Just drifting under a float, kinda windy so I let mother nature do the work. Not big numbers, but all were at least 12-15 inches and just hammered them...All this time I've been dicking around with "speciality" tube and jigs.
Ya never know![]()

Way to go Cook. was you up by the new bridge.
May all your live wells be full.Dave
Gosh Cook, those sound like some really nice one's.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'
The ole "doll flies" have caught many a fish and continue to do so whenever they get the chance.........nice fish cookie.

Opinions are like A-holes, everybody has one and some stink worse than others!
My grandpa used to troll doll flies around Lake Cumberland all the time. He called them his "Crappie baits". He was partial to white ones.
Nice job Cook, the fish probably haven't seen those in a long time. Congrats on the good catch.
They tore up pretty quick, the yarn"body" unraveled quicker than I remember in the past.Kinda nice to go back to the simple things.
