Hey this is as fast as our SBC DSL at home! CDC comes right up just as fast as home. The only problem is if a call comes in I will be disconnected from then internet. But hey I don't get that many calls at night anyway or during the day.

My major problem camo is I get shipped to some fireworks office in some town I have never been in. Normally they all have phone service, but no phone books. So if I need to find a Lowes store or a lumber yard I have no way to find one. That was one reason I wanted the broadband on my laptop. When I was in Richland, MS I had to drive around to find a WalMart!

Well, here is hoping we both did the right thing. A month or so I posted the same basic question and finally decided on a Palm Prius Plus for the phone(acts as modem). If connected and you get a call, you will loose the Inet connection while on the phone. Like you, the ability to cancel the broadband service on a monthly basis was a key for me. I was told yesterday to cancel it on the last day of your billing cycle to avoid prorated charges. Verizon appeared to have better coverage in the Bucksaw/Clinton area over AT&T and Sprint.
