    Default I grossed $60,000 in '08 a tax story

This is just my story on how taxes effect me.
In '08 I grossed a little over $60,000 '09 will be much less. 35% off the top goes to my helper Mike. The rest to expenses leaving me with $18,000 taxable income. From that I paid $5,500 in Federal taxes. leaves me $12,500 to feed my family, dogs etc.
Keep in mind that on the expenses I paid 8% tax and any gas was about 25%.
Every move I make, putting clothes in the wash, eating, you name it I pay tax.
Just sayin' when the government wants to say a small business owner is RICH and those that have the money confiscated from their paycheck really don't understand how out of control taxation is, at least allot don't.
And I work my BUTT off when the work is there.
Just some perspective from a small business owner.
    Thanks for reading

I hear ya. It is freakin out of control. The sad part is, if you would've told the average joe from 200 years ago that we would be getting taxed like we are today, they would've laughed; no way would the gov't tax your income, your clothing, the food you buy, the food you grow, the heat for your house, etc, and STILL be more than $10 TRILLION in debt! They would have looked at you like you were from another planet. HA, the joke is on them, that is EXACTLY what we have today! It truly is unbelievable when you step back and take an honest look at it; it is impossible to grasp just how much power and influence the gov't has over our lives. It weren't supposed to work that way.

I feel your pain, taxes out of control only getting worse.
Are they trying to grind the entire country to a hault?
Because taking away the rewards of hard work and long hours is not
the way to keep small business owners motivated, and it is small business that keeps most people employed in this country.

No obama wants a upper class and lower class (no middle class). That is socialism.

I've always said that if they would quit payroll with holding and everyone wrote a check for their taxes every year, there would be a revolution in this country.

Thats the truth brother. That's why the govt. confiscates it.
I always think of business owners as tax collectors (not in a bad way on their part) whether it is federal taxes or sales taxes.

Good point, how about letting business owners keep 2% of payroll taxes for early payment like they do on sales tax.
Yea like thats going to happen.
But I bet that would go a long way to get things working a agin, we would spend it on better things than what the goverment just blows it on.
