They are going to take traffic off the dam. Now it is the only route through there and there are semis, busses, and a bazillion tourists trying to park.
And they are real sweaty about terrorists.
I'd drive over the new bridge. :D

AWSOME PROJECT,,,THEY HAD A SHOW ABOUT THAT ON NAT.GEO...JUST PULLING THE MAIN CABLES WAS A MAJOR TASK,,,,I THINK THEY SAID AFTER THE TWO CENTER ARCHED SPANS THAT SUPPORT THE BRIDGE DECK IS FINISHED SOME OF THE CABLES U SEE IN THE PIC'S WILL BE REMOVED,,,,,
JUST ASK BEAGLE( ITS NOT THE FALL THAT HURTS BUT THE STOP AT THE BOTTOM THAT WILL GET YOU)
Construction of the bridge stared in 2005.....Completion by the end of the year.
The formal name for the bridge is "The Mike O'Callaghan (former governor of Nevada) -Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.
Man,that makes me dizzy
I think the main reason for building this bridge was to prevent a terrorist attack on the dam, i lived in Golden ValleyAZ south of hoover dam and worked at the casinos in Laughlin nv when 9/11 happened, was working the graveyard shift, got home and was called back in two hours later, we were told that if the hoover dam was hit we had 45 mins to evacuate the casino and hotel , folks our hotel alone had over 1200 rooms!! 45 MINUTES!!!
how the hell do ya evacuate that many people and get them to higher ground in 45 mins:confused:
Float'em out the windows
