    Default Bowhunters ?

Just wondering who likes to bowhunt ? It's my second outdoor hobby besides fishing . I have been an avid bowhunter for 30 years now . I also enjoy other forms of hunting , but enjoy the challenge of bowhunting the most.

For the past couple years I havent put in the effort with a bow as I did for the past 25+ years. I used to love ANYTHING with a bow. I'd shoot animal targets in tourneys during the summer, shoot fish at night (alot), and didnt miss very many evenings after work all those years hunting deer. There were a few years I never picked up the rifle and just bowhuinted from Sept. 15th until Jan. 1. Me and my son made a few trips to Ohio for those monster bucks too. (My son is hung up on the bow too. He bowhunted this past Sunday, even though rifle season has been in for more than a week now.) I think I am beginning to like fishing over hunting though. You can always throw a fish back, but once you take that shot is when all the work begins.:o

I've been bowhunting for around 18 years now. I stopped gun hunting deer 12 years ago. I've been fortunate to take over 30 deer with a bow. I was a trophy hunter at the beginning but now I harvest a couple of does every year for the freezer. I don't start hunting till after the 1st of November usually. Good luck to ya.

Bowhunting is my other passion also. Like you, I've been bowhunting since I was 16 so this is my 30th year for it. Started out shooting a Bear Super Grizzly 55# recurve. Learned to shoot instinctive with it. Stuck my first 8 pointer when I was 16 then I was hooked. Don't remember how many bow kills I've had since then for I've hunted Missouri, Illinois, Mississippi and Arkansas through the years. Even taken 2 black bears in Canada with my bow.

I bow hunt about everyday I'm off work, seen several nice bucks and a ton of doe's and fawns but still holding out for the big boy. I love getting up in a tree this time of the year.

I have found it easier to get permission to bowhunt than gun hunt from farmers who may have cattle .

Bow hunting is my hobby but duck hunting and crappie fishing are my passion. I'm lucky and get to bow hunt about 5 days a week. I have been lucky anuff to kill three does this year and leaving for Illinois the 4th for about 9 days or so. I hope to find ole Mr Big to make a one way trip back to Mo with me.

I bowhunted for 25 years and took a lot of deer. My hunting has declined the last few years and fishing has pretty much taken over all year long. In my area getting a good place to hunt is getting more and more difficult. Plus the boat seat feels pretty good!!
    Good luck hunting!!!

I had to put bowhunting on the backburner this season with my move to KC coming up at the end of the month . I have other priorities .
I plan on doing some fishing tomorrow instead.
