    Default post 9/11

Lotta posts about 9/11....but what about 9/12?
Like most people,I was in shock on the 11th,our work ended up closing early at noon.Spent the day watching the news and listening to the radio, talking to neighbors and relatives.
The 12th I got my butt in gear.I'm not a survivalist, but living in Mn.,Fl.,and tornado alley I've learned to keep a 7 day supply of food and water and lots of emergency gear.Checked it all and organized it.
Next all the guns and ammo came out of the safe. For a week or two I was never more than 20 feet away from some type of firearm and 100 rounds.

I guess it was the unknown...wasn't to worried about an invasion...mainly how the people would act(us)
That was a confusing time that literally changed the world, and it didn't hurt to be prepared.

Well,I came home yesterday to find the police at my house.Meth head next door went crazy and threatend my s-i-l.Police spent the night looking for him,I spent most the night on the porch .

Kinda ironic...all the guns came out again.

Cook I Would Tell The Police Very Nicely You Guys Either Take Care Of The Problem Or I Will With One Shot Between The Eyes!

I Don't Have A Problem With Someone Doin A Little Drinking. But I Have No Time Or No Respect For Anyone Doing Drugs.

And I Will Tell You One Thing If I Had A Meth Head Living Next To Me I Would Be On The Phone To Every Law Enforcement Agency In The Area. Because Being An Ex Volunteer Fireman I Have Seen What Happens When They Are Cooking Meth And It Blows Up! Just A 2 Litter Bottle Can Go Off Like A Very Large Bomb! I Used To Work For A Major Trash Company Here In Springfield Until They Laid Off Over Half The Sales Force. I Have Seen Several Trash Trucks Catch On Fire Because Of Meth Labs Being Thrown Away. Between All The Trash Companies Here In Springfield It Happens Any Where From 6 To 12 Times Per Month. And On Average Anywhere From 1 To 2 Trash Trucks Per Year In Springfield, Mo Are Lost To Fire Due To Meth Labs.

If The Front Load Truck Driver Can Catch It In Time They Can Hit A Button And Turn On A Fire Extingusher. But With Those Front Load Trucks The Fire Extingusher Don't Always Put The Fire Out. So The Drivers Are Instructed To Dump The Load In A Empty Parking Lot And Call The Fire Department. You Can Dump Them From The Cab Very Easy. Rear Load Trucks Can't Be Dumped From The Cab Until The Buckles Are Undone First At The Rear Of The Truck.

I Have Personally Helped Law Enforcement Recover Parts Of Meth Labs Out Of The Hoppers Of Several Trash Trucks. And It Hasn't Just Been In Springfield. I Have Done It In Buffalo And Bolivar Missouri. Usually The Guys Driving Rear Load Trucks Have Been Trained On What To Look For And They Catch It In The Hopper. Then They Call The Company Then They Contact Law Enforcement. I Have Been Told More Than Once That Just 8 Oz Of That Junk In A 16 Oz Plastic Soda Bottle Dropped On The Ground Next To A Man Will Blow His Legs Off.
