WOW, that sucks! Your wife obviously did the right thing, and now has to answer for it? Don't think so. I'd tell the cops to pizz up a rope.
Some sort of lie detector I guess, but yea, arrest her or something if she "is" a suspect, but not to go out of "her" way to rule her out.
I didn't know this po-dunk little town would have that technology.
I don't think there would be any way to PROVE anything one way or another, I don't think the police really suspect her, they just need to watch how they say and approach things.
I always said "NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED"
whoever lost the wallet should:
A) be glad they got their wallet back
and
B) be glad there is still $200 in it
if the finder of any lost wallet was a thief, there would not be a wallet turned into the police. bummer man, sorry for your wife to have the drama for being honest.
I Sure Thought That Marshall, Missouri Was More Than A Hick Town! And As Far As Dollar General I Guess We See How They Support The People Working For Them! I Would Tell Those Local Cops To Kiss Off! If Someone Was Going To Steal It They Would Have Taken All Of It!
Thats funny I hd the same sorta thing happen to me. Waked outof a restaraunt pouring down rain, saw a wallet on the ground. It had id and all, there was a fire house right next door I took it in and showed the chief, you woulda thought I was holding a snake the way he jumped back wouldnt touch it. He called police station they sent an officer (35 min later) and i couldnt leave tillhe got there and too ALL my info. Sorrr so long but your right THE THAKNS YOU GET!
From my experience, people are a lot more gracious. Sounds like the victim is one of the bad apples. The next 99 times she finds a wallet, it will go differently, I bet.
Sucks this time, though.
Keep us posted on what happens. Should be interesting.
you said an old man found it and brought it in to the store........... are they asking him to take a voice test, too? Geez! Sorry that she's having to go through all that grief for doing the right thing!!!!
