We have a one lane ramp at Bridgeport. Had a yahoo pull up just in front of the ramp with the cowling off the motor starter, fiddle with something, starter, fiddle with something, starter. Was doing this for 10 minutes.
I yelled at my Dad to just back around him and try to get it in as straight as possible. Dude got the clue at that point and jumped up and pulled his rig up out of the way.
The rigging the boat at the launch drives me friggin' crazy. Especially cuz it's not the guy with a couple things to put in the boat, it's the inner tube and the dog and the cooler and the bag with the sun tan lotion and the life jackets and the rope and the fishing pole and the television and the radio and the dishwasher and the tackle box and the can of soda in the dash and the depth finder and the bag of candy bars and the.............................. Don't forget the friends standing around watching one person do all the loading too.
Oh and while I'm on a tyrate. The rocket scientist that designed and puts the mooring dock in between the two launch ramps needs to be kicked square in the clock weights. Never fails you pull up and you're by yourself and have to tie your boat up cuz there's nothing but friggin rocks around the launch area and you're blocking one of the ramps with your boat. Tore up my keel on Bull Shoals cuz I didn't want to block the ramp with my boat so I pulled up on the shoreline. Single ramp and a feller comes in behind me with four people in the boat. Parks on the ramp side of dock because he's not confident enough to pull and tie up to the down wind side of the dock. None passengers could drive the stinkin' thing. So I sat and waited until they loaded this big pig of a boat with 2 ft waves rolling in. I timed this one. Just over 13 minutes later I'm backing the trailer into the water.
And the creme ala creme was the @$$monkey down in Dardanelle that was fishing the same tournament as we were pulled up to the single ramp and started unhooking his boat and getting his stuff out of the truck. We parked in the lot and got our boat ready to go. Dudes still puttin' stuff in his boat. I pulled my bumper up to within a foot of his propeller to express my displeasure. If I had room, I would have pulled up on the curb and backed around him. Looking back I should've told him to pull around and be more considerate of his fellow tournament fishermen next time he decides to block the ramp while he nonchalantly loads his gear. He didn't violate any rules but boy I was pissed cuz he was eating into fishing time.

Heck I just be happy if bucksaw would spend a little money to fix the curtiousy docks at bucksaw.
I observed that at a ramp with the vehicle running and the doors locked on the ramp. Luckily the owner had a wing window which was all that had to be broken to enter the vehicle. After seeing that I keep my keys on me and have a spare in the truck for the other person to use while launching me since they may be unfamiliar with the vehicle. My truck has a key pad but that won't let you enter while the vehicle is running.Quote:
