yeah i've been wanting to see carp pitch and that's why we bought these tickets. heading out this morning so maybe we can stop at bass pro and cabelas before the game. go cards.
cards won 5 to 2., got to see albert hit a homerun, and carp pitch, carp wasn't as sharp as usual but was stiil very good. also got a new 10 ft. wally marshall, so it was a good trip.
Well it looks like we're gonna get our 5th in the person of Mr John Smoltz and i for one am stoked he will do well as our 5th for the time being and will be an awesome weapon out of the bullpen in the playoffs.........way to go once again Mo he is definatly the gm/exec of the year!!!!
He hasnt faired well as of late as a starter. I think he will serve us better as a reliever. Maybe 2 to 3 innings, say the 6th thru the 8th. I hope he can start but his era was over 8.0 this year. Anyway i am excited we have him and maybe no.11 is just a couple of months away.
Thats true but it was in the al east where there are some big time boppers and it was the left handers that killed him maybe dave can get him back on track,lord knows we need a 5th and he wants to start if we could get a few starts out of him that couldn't do anything but make him sharper when they do put him in the pen.......whatever happens i think it will be a great signing for the birds.
i agree bugs, any time you are in a pennant race or playoffs and get a chance to get someone with smoltzes resume you have got to take that chance.
Yesterday was another great day to be a Cardinals fan...........we got our man and another (ho hum) victory.........time to bury the lowly cubs and take over home field from the dodgers,both should happen within the next couple of weeks.
Sunday is gonna be fun Smoltz gets the start.........can't wait!!!
