    Default Back to deer camp

Drove up Saturday morning as it was raining Friday and I need sunshine. Arrived around noon and went to regular dock and quickly picked up 5 nice ones including two real slabs. Then guy I know showed up and stopped to talk. Said he had his limit with fish close to bank like in spring off riprap. Will try that in morning.

Sun was out strong for hour so I had to go to new place. On first dip KABOOM HAPPENED again. Had a ball dipping around various shaded areas mostly 3 or 4 fow. Did stop at condo so niw armed w 7 ft st Croix rod and new reel. Really sensitive and was blast to use.

Boys killed two more deer. Fried up a bunch more crappie but also breaded and fried up backstrap and inner loins of a young deer and another great feast was enjoyed.

Looks like you hit the JACKPOT with those chunky slabs. You look full in the table pic. Eat enough crappie fillets makes it feel like Thanksgiving.

Every year fishing is really good at t hill during deer season and thru first of year and beyond.

Left sunday and banks had lots of guys fishing as crappie and bass were close to rip rap and many were ketchn well. Lots of boats there too

Sky never cleared so little point in hitting new dock. So dropped off 5 good ones to friend campingName: 20251123_091923.jpg
