Met up with Hut (best friend) and hooked the Ranger up. Wind/rain forecast led us to the old channel below Truman and it was on. We had 6 keepers in the live well before we got all the rods baited. Went 10 yards and just set the spot lock for a while. The first hour was all keepers until the dinks found us. On the water by 7:30 dropped Hut off at the dock with a limit and picked my son up to fish a little longer. We were short on minnows so we rigged plastic jigs on the bottom hooks. Ended up with another 6 keepers befit we had to get him home to pick up the boys from school. Left about noon with 21 more. I think they hit the plastic jigs as well as the minnows.Attachment 504828

Good job and nice groceries.
Sounds like it was a great day with a lot of fish caught. Would you agree the average size fish is better this year than past years? Seems like it to me anyways, I haven't caught nearly as many fish under 10 inches as I usually do below the dam. Haven't had to get the "checker" out much.
Good job!
wtg Jeff! looks like a great day for sure.
Hope the move went well and your settled in the new place.
I agree the size of fish are better this spring than normal. It is funny though. You may go an hour or more with almost no dinks then all at once every fish you get is 6” or less. Haven’t really figured it out yet but I’m sure the early bite is better
