LOZ 4/21

Went fishing with my son and brother in-law and caught a few on the bank. Fished mid lake, on Monday the water temp was 68 degrees and pretty clear for the amount of rain we had over the weekend. We've been out each day this week and caught 20 or so each day. Water temperature yesterday was 70 in some areas. Seems pretty warm for this time of the year. We have caught some really nice males this year.

WTG that is a very nice basket of good sized fish. Great Intel on lake conditions as well, thanks for posting!

When my family had a nice house on LOZ and large dock we used to slay them on brush sunk at each corner and man that was cool to just get out and whack them. Plus going out in small boat in spring and fall. That was long time ago now plus a hot turkey hunting place close by. paradise for a decade or so.

My brother in law and son having been taking off the first week of turkey for the last 20 or so years. We gave up turkey hunting about 10 years ago because they didn't seem to be as abundant where we hunted as when we started this tradition.
We have fished all week and every day we figure it will be tougher than the previous. Yesterday my brother in law and I ended up with 26. We kind of ran out of our traditional spots or they were on the main channel. Yesterday we tried the main channel but with the wind and 29k cfs discharge it was a little challenging. We ended up going to the closet cove and found fish very shallow. We could catch one or two about every other dock and then would find 5 or 6 at the next one. The water is pretty clear. The water temp on the side scan was reading 72 and the trolling motor was reading 2 degrees cooler.
I fished the same jig and plastic all week, 1/16 oz pony head jig candy purple with a popsicle wow grub.
Weather has been pretty awesome all week.
