Nice. 5 is better than a skunk plus you had a good meal. Sounds like a good trip.

Hit Smithville on Sunday afternoon cuz it was better than watching the Packers get whooped!
On the water shortly after noon. Off by 4:30ish with 5 to show for my efforts.
I started in Honker but it was tougher to keep the boat still than I thought it would be. Plus there just wasn't anything showing up on the LS worth throwing at.
So I made a run upriver to the same place I'd had success previously.
While I got out of the wind a bit, there were a LOT fewer dots to chase this time, (and a lot of smaller dots not worth chasing at all). Couple that with finicky fish, and me struggling with boat control and keeping the livescope on the target and...well...just 5 for the skillet.
They were cleaned and in the grease by the time the Chiefs game ended (ended up listening to both games on SiriusXM) and made a fine meal. No complaints, all things considered. It was good experience!
@Alex...in response to your question in your last post...yeah, I'd been doing okay up river, but...just okay. I don't know that I'll head that direction next time I go out though. Might try something up the Camp Branch arm? Well....especially if the Conservation Area is closing off on October 15th!! May not have a choice!!

Good post Joe. Thanks for sharing!
I thought someone gave you that fish at the boat ramp? 5 don't you mean 25 fins? JK Nice work Joe!

That'll make a fine meal. Congrats!

A good one!
Joe, I think when the weather starts cooling down camp branch is really going to fire up. At least that's what I remember when I was fishing the last time I fished a couple years ago.
