Dad n I headed out to Tebo this morning. Splashed about 7, pulled out about 4. It was a long day in the brutal wind. There's no hiding from a south wind on Tebo but it was the most promising spot.
I've heard the little buggers are moving into the creeks. We tried that that, went in too far so we could nose out into the wind. Slowly worked our way back out of the cove. We put about 4 in the boat a short ways back from the channel but by then the wind was twisting us around nonstop and snagging our lines. We needed open water.
We looked at some spots in the main lake but it was a serious cross wind.
I took a shot and headed up the creek where I had some success lately.
We nosed into the wind and worked the TM hard. The fish had moved but that's ok cause the wind pushed me off course and we would land a few. Nothing huge and lots of dinks.
Thought we weren't gonna get our limits but then I caught dad not pulling a bead so we did a count. 2 LIMITS!
So previously the crappie had been in the creek channel and caught around 10-12ft. Today they were on the flats with rocky bottoms adjacent. We wouldn't get a bite unless we dragged our minnows on the ground. Each time we jogged the TM we would catch 1-3 or snag half our lines, but sometimes that's the game.
It was a fun day and beautiful except for the wind and I sent dad home with enough fish for my nieces and nephews when they babysit next week.![]()
