I was out early and bass fished for a few hours with not much to report besides small fish and a gar that almost got away with my favorite jerkbait. Fortunately I just bought some long pliers and got it back. I trolled crankbaits for a few hours all over the Gravois and only caught 5 crappie and a few white bass. The spring fishing continues to be terrible for me. I also caught an 18 pound blue that drew a small crowd by land and water because it took probably 10 minutes to get in with a 10 foot jigging pole and 10 pound braid.
