    Default New spot, very windy

I decided to try a new spot today... Bushwhacker Lake. It was back in the sticks 3-4 miles of not real good gravel road. Very windy out today, had one heck of a time getting the boat in and out by myself. No dock along side of the ramp, wind blew the boat into a tree with low limbs. Had to really pull on the launching rope to get it where I could climb in without going for a swim! Getting it back on the trailer was fun too! Lots of folk out fishing, Lake full of trees and stumps. But I would like to try it again in calmer weather, maybe in the middle of the week with a lot less people for that small of a lake.

Only caught one fish...it hit a Ned Rig bass bait just as I was about to quit and try to get the boat on the trailer. But it was a nice crappie...hit the thing just like a bass!
I got the boat out yesterday afternoon, first time this year, by the house on Lamar Lake, The only thing I caught was a smallish bass that hit one of my hand tied crappie jigs. Go figure!

Has anyone fished Bushwhacker Lake ? I would think with that many trees & stumps, most of the lake, there would be a bunch of nice slabs.

I never fished the lake but went on a managed deer hunt down there a few years ago, looks like a great lake for crappie.
