Mark Twain report Monday 2-3-20
Went up to Mark Twain lake Monday with great expectations from our previous trips. Temperature was supposed to hit 65 degrees so how can you not want to go fishing. Mark (N2 Crappie) wanted to put in at Spalding and try Indian creek area. Well when we went to put in there was ice every where. Well we used the boat like a barge and plowed through the ice to get to an opening and finally found a cove with trees and no ice. Water temperature was 35 Degrees. Well fishing was good, catching wasn't. I got skunked and N2 Crappie caught 3 shorts. We had a good time and the weather was great. Seen two bald eagles by the dam. We did fish the main cove tree, bridge piers and may our way over to Dry fork with no luck. Took the boat out around 2 and went down below the dam to see if I could catch one fish so I wouldn't go home skunked but they quit running water and no fish were caught below the dam. Well we will get them next time.
