After sitting at home the last 2 weekends I would not be denied today. Stopped to pick you a bag of ice melt and ran into an ole boy and he said you going fishing? Looked at him and looked at my boat and said I think so. He began to tell me I wouldn't get in for all the ice. I almost turned around and headed home and thought what the heck. And guess what Cape Fair not a bit of ice so unloaded and away I went. Now Flat Creek had ice as far as I could see when crossing the bridge. The lake is down 5 feet and it was frigid but did manage 5 in a couple of hours. Caught them in 30 fow suspended around timber about 18 feet deep. Fishing a chartreuse crappie magnet under a float dead still. Oh and the water temp is 41. Sure felt good to get out and catch a few.
