Got on the water about 830 this morning. Put in at w launch. Fished solid from 830 till 2pm. Fished standing timber in 14-22 feet of water. Did my normal standing timber in the summer time routine which is let a chartreuse and black jig all the way to the bottom and then real slowly as possible up. Normally I was getting bites at about 2 foot off the bottom. I swear if I caught one fish I caught 125. All were 4-8 inches with 2 keepers. Keepers were 12 and 11 1/2 inches. I fished coves both north and south of w highway bridge. Not sure where all the big fish are but there are so many freaking little ones you can't even hardly let your jig down to the bottom without pulling one out. Remind me of the old days when I used to sit under W highway bridge and catch hundreds of them. Great day on the water and it sure beats working just a little frustrated in the lack of keepers. Was sure hoping on bringing some home for dinner. Let those two back when I was getting ready to head in.

Sounds way better than what I have been doing. Thanks for the report
Haven't caught a crappie in weeks. Been nothing but gills, redear, and cats for me. Sounds like a fun day even though there weren't many keepers. Better luck next time.
I've been bumpin stumps north of W and main lake brush piles, one 8" after another, I think it's the same fish with an eating disorder. Think I'm going to try a little bass fishing this weekend and hope the crappie pick up this fall.
