Pushing crankbaits!

So I finally got around to try pushing crankbait as opposed to pulling. Went to the local conservation lake and gave her a try. I was using the arkie 220's with 2 oz. of weight running between 1.5-2 mph. Definitely a learning curve but I didn't do too bad ended up with 10 keepers in about an hour and a half. Plus a couple bonus large mouth (one really nice 5 lbs'er that was interesting on a 12' rod!) overall I really like this technique.

Don't seem to lose as many fish either when pushing.Just my opinion.

Good times! We had days on Sardis when our down rods out fish the long lines all day long

Good job....I love cranking....some days I pull and push at the same time

When they are hitting short and your missing fish. Replace back treble hook with a size 1 or 1/0sickle jig hook turned up and you will get them in the roof of the mouth.
