    Default Eagle Claw ELW hooks

Has anyone switched over to the extra light wire Hooks? Been seeing a lot of advertisement on them being great for a free swimming minnow and easy to pull free from brush without losing your rig. I'm a little concerned about it straighting out on a big fish..... got a trip to Mississippi next spring and wasn't sure about tying my rigs up with those hooks on em. Gonna be red faced as ever if i get a 3 pounder "fish of a lifetime" at the boat and that hook is straight. Lol. Any success/failure with these new hooks?

I'm a firm believer in Litewirehooks especially when fishing around trash/stumps/hang-ups. When I'm in open water, I use the #1 LWH but it's a trade-off......If I fished in open water and never get hung then I would probably use only stiffer hooks. I like to spend time fishing rather than tying on hooks.

Never tried the ELW hooks, have been using the Mr. Crappie light hooks for a couple years and have had good luck. Have straightened them out several times and never lost a fish to a hook breaking, usually after about 3 times bending I change the hook out just for piece of mind. Kinda like the cam action of these hooks, don't know if it helps but just seems like it would.
