LOZ 10/01 On Fire

Have no idea about the fish since I apparently had a short in the back somewhere and the engine (honda 4-stroke) caught fire in the wiring before I even left the dock. Jumped out of boat and kicked water into the flame before any gas lines caught fire too. In panic mode jumped back in boat and yanked (broke out) the wires to battery to stop it as quickly as I could. Who knows what else is toast. Theres always next year.........

Heck, even talked with a guy that was crappie fishing by my dock and he said he wasn't having any luck. I told him about my debacle and said I could show him where the bigguns are bitting if he wanted to make a run over there I would jump in with him. He said not interested. I gave him directions anyway. I guess it's not in the cards for me to fish this year...had all sorts of issues..

I think it was the power trim wires that shorted and fried the power trim box thingy (I think) on the side of the motor. Apparently whatever dealer put the motor on the boat didn't put a fuse on those...

Hopefully nothing else shorted too, but then there's also the mess of wires I tore out in a panic.

I may come down Saturday to do some house work, but will try to see if I can get the boat running - I don't really need the power trim. Let me know If you're in the neighborhood. If my boat works we can take it out, if not I'd be very grateful to hop on with you and see if we can get on some.

Was out for 4 hours this morning.
Managed 1 keeper and about 5 dinks.
Tried everything nothing really happening.

Do you think the starter stayed engaged? Was it just the wiring that melted. Hope its not too bad.

Sorry to hear about your boat. Manny I couldn't buy a legal fish yesterday. Caught dink after dink yesterday. Finally got tired of feeding them a half jar of niblets and called it a day.

Hope it is better than it sounds. Had a hard time finding keepers today also.

yea i hooked up my battery cables backwards one time and fried the ground wire through the whole instrument panel...BOAT Bust Out Another Thousand
