Had a last minute, 24 hour trip to Europe for work and got back stateside Friday around 3:00 P.M.......running on 36+ hours of no sleep. After I landed, we made a last minute decision to head back to Illinois for the weekend and that meant carve out some time to get out on Twain. Dad's been hammering crappie and walleye on cranks all summer however, with the weather and water cooling we decided to break out the rigging sticks.

Up at 3:00 A.M. and on the water by 6:00.... seems as though the fish are starting to do their fall thing however, not an overly aggressive bite. Most fish we caught either barely ticked it or the line actually lifted. The "active" bite was in or around the mouths of feeder creeks and a little on main lake bluffs, again, close to the mouth of a creek. Went straight minnows so can't comment on the riggin jigs part. Dang catfish wouldn't leave us alone and a couple of them paid the ultimate price.

Kept a nice mess of fish for some friends and all in all, just a dandy day to be on the water.

Should start getting good over the next few weeks!
