Default HB 999ci HD SI install

Looking for a reliable installer in the Bootheel area for my HB 999 on a 2015 Xpress xp200 or someone willing to lend me a helping hand that has knowledge in this area? Not particularly at ease about drilling holes in a brand new boat and not knowing what I should or should not be doing!!
Also wondering if I need to install a high speed ducer for 2d or will the stock unit work ? Boat runs around 44 mph.

The boat has a HB 386ci already installed at the console but gonna take it out, will the existing ducer be of any use to me for the 999 ?
    Thanks for any advise

Try Grizzly Jig. They may be able to help or point in right direction. They are in Caruthersville (?).

Doubt it will work,386 is DI and 999 is SI/DI. 386 Transducer is XNT-9-20-T and 999 is XHS-9-HDSI-180-T
    I Don't Know,but I can always use help

I had Tri State trolling motors install my 2 998s. Paid a little but it was well worth the money as I have had no problems and extremely happy. It pays to have pro do it if you are not sure how exactly to install as was the case with me.

Dealer you bought the boat from should be able to install it for you.

The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

    Thanks everyone!
Will check with Marine Rebuilders and I have talked to Grizzly Jig guys.
Would a transducer guard be a wise investment ?
Fella a Grizzly Jig said the stock ducer will read depth fine up to about 20 mph, should I consider a thru the hull or waste of money ?

transducer guard If you fish a lake with stumps well worth the money. reading at speed depends on mounting location vs prop disturbance. Not a expert just learn a few times the hard way.

I just got a new(to me) boat and the first thing I did was mount a transducer mounting plate on it so I would not have to worry about drilling several more holes to mount and/or adjust transducers.

It did require drilling two holes to mount it, but once mounted and sealed you are done. I fish some places that are stumpy so I bit the bullet and forked out 60-some dollars for the Transducer Shield and Saver mount. Transducer Shield and Saver - See More Fish, Catch More Fish!

Their video on how to mount plus the ease of using the shield made it easy to mount mine. I took it out for a test fun and it read at top speed (about 30MPH). I did lose the signal momentarily when I ran across 80 to 100 FOW at speed but 90% of the run I had a signal which is better than I've ever managed before. My transducer is the 83/200/455/800 Lowrance skimmer type and it is kind of large and the Lowrance mount is flimsy to begin with so this gave me a lot more confidence that I would not break it off if I hit something, It actually springs up if you hit something and then snaps back in place when you clear the obstacle.

I was advised to take a cutting board, cut it in half or thirds length-wise. Double it up (making it thicker) screw it to the boat in each of the 4 corners. Now get half inch screws and screw it into the cutting board. This way you can move your transducer in several different locations to find you best image WITHOUT having to drill a bunch of holes in your boat. I did it and It works great. And looks great too!!!!
