Caught a 9 lb. 12 oz. gar on my 5 ft. Ultralight rod and reel. Was casting a small blue and silver lip.ess crank for whatever and that s what I caught. A whatever. Put up a good fight. Jumped completely put of the water 4 times. My little plueger outfit with 15 lb. braid held up good. Good fight on that little,outfit. Lol.
