Default Anyone fish Creve Couer Lake for Crappie in the last 2-3 years?

Can anyone offer good input on crappie fishing Creve Couer Lake? I have found some info, but it is all 5+ years old. MDC's website says the crappie fishing is very good there but I struck out last week. I have to be there tomorrow for an event I'm working and thought I'd give it another shot while I was there.

My friends and myself fish this lake almost every day. So far this year I have caught 0 keepers and very few dinks. The lake is overloaded with asian carp and gar!!!!!! They come into the lake from the Missouri river backflow and eat the crappie(gar) and their food base(asian carp), so fishing is very POOR despite the output from the MO Dept of Conservation. Lack of fisherpersons tells the story. There are NO fish

What are you fishing for then? Catfish? Its always a shame when bodies of water are a wasteland like that.

Ok. I did not end up fishing yesterday but did speak with two of the park rangers at length. One of them recommended paddling out and into the slough on the southeast side of the lake (out and under 364). He said there's good structure there and when they shock the lake to check conditions that's where they find the most fish, crappie included. He also said you have to find the structure on the main lake to catch crappie and mentioned MDC is supposed to have a site with GPS coordinates for the brush piles but I haven't been able to find anything.

Doesn't look like any brush piles have been marked for Creve Couer Lake but thats the link your looking for.
