I've heard good things about Timber Ridge Resort and Cannon Dam Cabins as well.

Dry Dock after you leave South Fork Resort, go over the South Fork Bridge and look for the Budweiser sign on the right hand side. Turn right, follow your nose!

they also have "camper cabins" at the state park. little A-frame cabins that sleep 4 or so fairly comfortably, heat and a/c. during the week you might have a shot at getting one of those.
