After maaaaaaaaaaaaaany failed attempts, I finally managed to time it right and catch some on the spawn!

Left work early, and was on the water by 3.30, headed to a cut on the south end of the lake, and within 20 minutes I had a nice 11" momma to throw in the livewell. The next hour was uneventful, so moved way back into the cove across the lake and started fishing about 2/3 of the way to the back. I wasn't able to pull the back-to-back type fishing I've had on Truman or Smithville, but I couldn't complain either. Managed to boat 12, kept 7 (a couple of 10" and a 12" fish in there as well) and missed a fair number of hits.

Most came 4-6' off the bank, roughly 4' deep where chunk rock and some sort of timber met. When the sun was out, a 2" Ghost BG Baby Shad slow rolled on a roadrunner head did the trick. When the clouds came and when the sun went below the trees, a 1.5" chartreuse/silver glitter Panfish Assassin tiny shad rigged the same way brought them in.

The females were all full of eggs, with half of them looking pretty close to time.

Wish I would have been able to get out before the storms rolled through Saturday afternoon, but I might try to take one of the daughters out Tuesday afternoon and see if the fish are still there.

No pics, as I was in a hurry to get things done as the Royals game was on. Maybe next time
