Had the same luck on Sunday as you did, Mark. Very windy today and when the fish don't want to play...its time to be somewhere other than on the water.

Took the wife up to Mark Twain Lake Saturday. They are dropping the lake so the fishing is tough. Tried a little of everything to figure out that there is no pattern.
Only caught seven crappie and one green carp but asked a lot of people and none of them caught any. Seen a lot of fish chasing shad out deeper so i should have pulled some crankbaits then but i waited till later in the day. I would wait fishing till they stop dropping the water level. Started fishing deeper trees from the earlier reports but didn't catch anything deep. Caught all in 7-12 feet of water. Can't complain, it was a nice day out there and i caught enough for dinner.

man if you get a dinner out of a fishing trip that is great, so many times it does not work out that way.

Nice report Mark.
Can't complain about a dinner like that.
See ya next weekend
I'm glad someone else reports those non-targeted species. Way to go Mark.
My report from Sunday is the same as all of you. I caught five crappie, only two were keepers. There wasn't a pattern.
Well we gave it a week...it was ssllloooowww today also. Fished bridge piers caught a few, fished timber just off main lake points and river channels. Ended up catching 6 keepers over 10 inches. Bite was very light. We fished with minnows on slip bobbers and most bites just put the bobber on its side or moved sideways. Only a few of the bites took the bobbers down. We were on tons of fish, but they weren't in the mood to play.
They will put the feed bag on soon so keep trying
