Name is Mike, I retired from the USAF in 1988 and from ADT October 2010. Used to fish regular but due to work, health and Katrina, I haven't fished for several years. I'm now retired and getting back into in heavy. Naturally, when I wasn't fishing I gave all my equipment to my nephew and now I'm having to buy everything new. I love the shopping though, and thank heavens I have an understanding wife.
welcome to the board Mike!
Welcome form the NW side of the state.
Hi,
My wife and I fish Arkabutla, Sardis, and Enid. Arkabutla is our main lake. Lakeview was on the list until they closed it.
I use to read the MDWFP forum before they closed it down. From what I've read so far this seems to be a very informative site. Thanks to everyone for good information, and I'll try to add some if I can.
Thanks
Welcome to the site, you can learn a lot here from most all of the guys. Dont pay any attention to one in particular and that would be Wannabe since he is full of it. You know what --IT is! lol.
Thank You!
Lived in Memphis most of my life. Fished a lot of local lakes close to home with my dad. Island 40, Dacus,Wapanocca,Sardis,Enid,Lakeview,Tunica. My grandfather, Stanley Moore was a commercial fisherman on Sardis, so as a young boy, I spent my entire summers down there with my grandmaw and grandpaw. My grandmaw, Helen Moore was a better crappie fisherman than my grandad. They lived off the river chute coming out of the lower lake.We bank fished a lot with some poles she cut that had to be 20ft. long. She knew that spillway like the back of her hand! She would put me in a spot between 2 other people and I would be catchin the daylights out of fish while people on either side was doing hardly nothing! FISHING IS IN MY BLOOD!!! I moved to Southaven 12 years ago and I fish The Butla more than any of the big 3 because it is so close.Once I feel I can go there and catch fish anytime, then I'll move down to Sardis and work on it a while! I really love the knowledge of fishing I have found on this web-site and I hope I can get to know everyone here a lot better.I have a dumb question to ask and that's how do you add a picture to your username on the threads and a quote to live by. Any help will be greatly appreciated.Well my 1 finger is about tired from all this pecking so I'm going to give it a rest. OLD FISHERMAN NEVER DIE, THEY JUST SMELL THAT WAY!!!!!
Welcome from Indiana
:)
Morning All,
Some of you are buddies from another forum and it's high time I made it over here. I used to crappie fish Eagle Lake and Pelahatchie Bay bout 15 to 20 years ago. Ready to get back into it. Finally got issues with my boat worked out last August so I'm ready to rig for perch and hit it hard here on my home lake the Ross Barnett. I live on one of the creeks on the south side of Pelahatchie Bay so once the boat's in the water it's just a hop, skip, and a jump to perching territory when time allows.
Big shout out to Stump, DonDon, and ReesGuide as well as any of my other buddies from other forums!
