Colors, oh my gosh...
Whats red-hot for me one year or two, won't catch a thing the next year.
And whats working in the morning may be right opposite from what they
want after lunch.
I belive the fish are in cahoots with the bait co.s keep changing so
we'll buy more.
Jigs alot,
You should learn to jig fish first. Then move on to something a lil more complicated
I agree, sometimes it seems like the hot color changes every time you go. Almost every time we go though, by the end of the day it seems like there is always one or two colors that account for most of the bites. Sometimes it's suttle too, like you'll start to notice that you're getting the most bites on one color but they're all short fish while another color that isn't getting bit as much is catching keepers, wierd. A lot of people think that trolling cranks is just a reaction bite but you just see certain colors get hot way too often for it to be a coincidence.
Hey BB,
When did you learn to write, let alone type? You're just grumpy because you'll have to get wet to get your trollin rig off the bottom of lake washington, since you threw that hissy and kicked it in the water. It was just icing on the ol cake when your boat got away and floated out in the middle later that day wasn't it? ;)
I see the same thing at Sardis. Seems like you can't keep the short fish off a certain color but other colors will be slowly but steadily catching big fish. I try changing the depth but usually have to change out the color that's catching the short fish.
I saw Carl Graham on Sardis using his 6'6" med/hvy bass rods trolling 300 bandits last summer.
He just held them off the side of his boat cast out holding on, slow trolling his big motor and.....catching crappie.
I don't know, I've never tried it, but I do need to find a use for my old bass rods.
Thoughts?
Two years ago we just tried casting them and got this. I was surprised
