    Default Another crappie tough question

Should I really be changing jig colors when the light conditions change? So I am catching crappie early morning well on a pink and chartreuse jig. The bite slows mid day. I have heard many times when the bright sun comes out you should change from bright colors to darker colors.
I usually just write it off to the crappie were less active in the mid day period. What is your experience?

Typically, when the sun comes out, the fish either go deeper or find shade. In either case, there's a good probability that the colors they are attracted to will change with the depth or cover they move to. Next time you think this may have happened, try firetiger or black/pink...or tipping the jig with a minnow may be the ticket.

On a clear day the light spectrum changes hourly as the angle of the suns light hits the water surface. Changing colors makes a diff. also water clarity has a lot to do with it. In clear water light colors stained water dark colors.

Color C-lector. You can get one at BPS or prolly Cabelas. It's a sensor that you dip in the water and it recommends a color to use based on the color of the water you're in and light penetration.

    Default forgot about those

I forgot all about the C-lector. I used one years ago but no longer. Think I will pick up a new one. Thanks.
