    Default Crankin

Okay, I'm still kinda new to crappie fishing and still trying to figure out all the technics I have never seen work. I have sorta figured out spider riggin, but now I'm gonna try to figure out crankin. Is it a certain type of rod to use and what about the size of the line? I need all the help I can get. This is becoming an addictive sport!!!!!!!!!!

I'm there wit ya man. Caught my first crappie bout 3 years ago after moving to Arkansas from Nebraska. Now im in MS, so i guess im destined to fish for crappie. Bought my first boat this year in Feb and haven't really even taken time to turkey hunt much, which is usually my favorite thing. I hope to learn crankin this summer too.

Check out this video also. About as informative as you can get without getting in the boat with someone.

It is a crankbait for a reason maybe.....

you can get "cranked" pulling crankbaits......catfish like crankbaits too....

you think you hit a log when one those catfish bends the pole deep into the water....

the guys on here know what they are doing....I tried a "recommended" set up and it works for me pretty well.....I put a post on here about how I learned to do it....I believe CrappieMax is trying to learn as well....check those threads also......

    good luck......

The more I'm hearing, the more I'm wanting to learn how to do this. The video I watched got me pumped up. I know that realistically you can't catch a ton everyday, but the days you do will make it worth it. I would love to get in the boat with someone experienced and watch and help. Thanks for the info!!!!!

Maybe if we show up at spring camp someone will show us the ropes. Or maybe they'll take us noobs on the crappie equivalent of a snipe hunt and we'll have to swim back.

I've pulled the snipe hunt on some folks before. That's a scary thought.
