Last year had a good day in a about 3 FOW and 30 mins.

This is only my 2nd time ever Crappie fishing, but these are huge to me. The one in my left hand was just over 2 lbs and what makes it even better is that we didn't have a dip net in the boat (some serious suffling going in that 14 aluminum boat trying to land a big fish)

Definately a biggen from Sardis. Don't own any scales. Notice the elbows.:D That's right, I wasn't holding it out towards the camera. And I'm 6'-4". Try not to let the size of my belly take away from the size of the fish:)
ES, this thread is for big fish, not big gewbers. Since you're new here, I thought I'd help you out. :) Next time just hold the fish out and let the cameraman frame it so we're not subjected to your gewberness.
Wannabe...
I'm going back to posting pics through photobucket

I haven't seen any comments about the markings/coloring of this fine fish. Is it a hybrid? Anyway that's a nice looking fish; I've never seen one like it.
Dave
That is really a fine coloration. Great fish.

Caught last sunday. Well crazy story. I took some of my buddies (who dont fish) out to bluff lake in starkville (on the refuge) and rigged them up some spinnerbaits just trying to get them a bass bite. They dont fish... so spinner bait was easy for them to reel in. ANYWAYS my buddy who has never caught a crappie before catches this pig. I didnt know at the time that a 4 pound crappie was world class because i am a tournament bass fisherman and dont fool with them. Anyways we let it go and did some research afterwards. I believe it was the lake record. heres a pic my guess was in the fours. The fish was bedded at the end of a tree top we let it go right there. so it could still be bedded there. Im not too familiar with how crappie spawn because i dont fish for them. Anyone think its still there?
