I haven't seen any comments about the markings/coloring of this fine fish. Is it a hybrid? Anyway that's a nice looking fish; I've never seen one like it.
Dave
That is really a fine coloration. Great fish.

Caught last sunday. Well crazy story. I took some of my buddies (who dont fish) out to bluff lake in starkville (on the refuge) and rigged them up some spinnerbaits just trying to get them a bass bite. They dont fish... so spinner bait was easy for them to reel in. ANYWAYS my buddy who has never caught a crappie before catches this pig. I didnt know at the time that a 4 pound crappie was world class because i am a tournament bass fisherman and dont fool with them. Anyways we let it go and did some research afterwards. I believe it was the lake record. heres a pic my guess was in the fours. The fish was bedded at the end of a tree top we let it go right there. so it could still be bedded there. Im not too familiar with how crappie spawn because i dont fish for them. Anyone think its still there?
