Yikes! No one deserves to die doing what he or she loves.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.
Sorry to hear this. Condolences and prayers sent
That's terrible! Prayers for the family for sure. To reach his own, but when my time comes, and the Lord is ready for me, instantaneous checking out while doing something I love wouldn't be all bad.
I have learned while working at Sea to get in out of the rain. I have been and will remain a fair weather angler. Sorry to hear it happened on The Rez. Black cloud for sure hanging around there for a while.
I had a fun adventure over 10 years ago just trying to get off The Rez for pop-up thunderstorm that wasn’t in the original forecast when first heard that first boom and lightning strike, which is why I haven’t attempted to get out there all week. My new Tempest weather station has been picking up lightning strikes (and sending me notifications) from the various thunderstorms this week, and a good bit of The Rez is within the range of its detection capabilities based on some confirmation on my end.

I'm usually catching so close to my camper I just run back in if it turns ugly. Our fish taste better due to living in a flowing estuary so fishing there is a joy, I try not to make it a chore. With the Champ I will venture a little further away but it can get me back a lot quicker too.
Prayers and condolences for family.
