Default These fish were unhelpful today

Short striking, scattered all over the water column, and an attitude to boot. I asked several if they knew Wannabe, they just kinda stuck their tongue out and went pffft?
I have an attitude adjustment in store for them though hot oil treatment

The catfish however, were in their usual fine form. Actually ran me off from a spot where I was catching a few crappie. And to cap it off, the ONLY color bait that showed signs of being the hot ticket today - I only had one - while I had my back turned dealing with a fish on other side, it came up GONE. Brand new $7 Bandit. Don’t know if it was a gar or a big cat, but when I turned around and said that board is running funny-
Had about 6 inches of chewed up line and no lure These fish were unhelpful today

Certainly how my luck goes. If I only have one of something they are hitting. I might as well reel it in and cut the line, toss it overboard. That way I know where I lost it.

That would beat losing baits allright.
But then you would have to deal with them boatside These fish were unhelpful today
Years ago I was a diehard paddlefish snagger, and we would catch some huge gar as well. Super heavy tackle, and no other lines to tangle. But usually in the dark, and man those things are strong and go crazy at the boat! Usually be soaking wet by the time you got loose from them. I remember dealing with some probably over 4 foot long.
Found out my homemade gaff is no good on them, too armored to penetrate. Arrived at the combo of a glove on one hand and a ball pein in the other. Grab em by the snout and adjust their noggin till they agreed to be still.

Sheesh. Y’all remind me not to try to steal any of J white’s bandits.

I noticed a lot of followers
And a lot of short strikes Saturday too. Been that way for 2 months. Just not agrees I’ve and in the feed yet I suppose.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

Well, you aren’t trying to feed them crankbaits, so it’s an uphill battle there These fish were unhelpful today back when it was so miserable hot, from midday though evening it was ON up here. Get the depth right and hold on. You know they’re wanting it when you pull them in with gills torn and hanging out the side. But this cooler snap has it all catawampus.

No Sir, have not yet. I’m like a squirrel darting around burying nuts. But will get it done. I did notice that all brands, all sources seem to be trending upward on price ?

Agreed. Lil Darlin says my fishing habits cost more than my hunting…
