    Default Main lake at sardis

Has anyone even attempted the main lake at sardis? I know it's been shoulder to shoulder at the lower lake, but I'm wondering with the rising temps if the fish might be moving up into the brush in the back of the coves, and if the high water is even worth trying.

been to the main lake about 10 times this month and alittle late if you think fish are moving up to the shallow. Some females have already spawned and moved back out. water was stable for a while and now they are really pulling the water down and that will affect the rest of the spawners. Get back in the brush with the snakes and you'll find some crappie . Id much rather do that then deal with the spider riggers on the lower lake. Much more fun!!

I've done ok on the lower lake so far. Just getting back into doing a lot of fishing after a few years of working too dang much so I guess I was a little off on my timing. My father in law (who doesn't fish a lot) wants to chase some slabs so I was gonna give it a shot Monday and wanted to try some brush instead of spider rigging!

Monday will be after the front and near freezing early that morning. Bite will be slow so don't think you need to get there at daylight. if you can fish the afternoon on Monday then I'd bet you'll do better than that morning. Good luck to you and hope you find a few slabs in the jungle.

Yeah I gotta drop the kiddos off at daycare so I wont make it to the ramp until almost 9. I can fish till about 2 so maybe somewhere in there I'll stumble on some! Thanks!

I’ve caught way more fish on cold days than warm. Sometimes there’s no rhyme or reason.

Trollers are catching mostly shorts with a few keepers.

Look for the Fishing Guides and follow them around. Not many pics posted here any more, but they post pics of their catches all the time. I've seen some absolute Pigs that have been caught this spring at Sardis and Grenada. Even ole home of the 11 1/2" crappie Enid has put out some good ones this year.
