I remember not being able to get under the bridge. Don't remember scooping crappie up with a net though!!!!!

I meant netting the fish we caught! Lol. We would wrap a string around the concrete and place the poles up and down the bridge, baited with jigs and minnows. Kinda like spider rigging, except you on dry land and not moving, lol. We really caught a lot of fish around that bridge at very high lake levels. 5 or 6 feet higher than now!
Hahaha. That was where I caught my first-ever crappie. I wore my old man and oldest brother out, and I was hooked. I didn't even care about the fish, but it was the first time (and maybe only time) I beat either of them at anything. We were using cane poles, corks, and minnows. I still get excited when my bobber gets eradicate and jerky and disappears. I like that sight as well as I do the thump on the jig pole line.
Was on Nader yesterday fighting 28 degree northwest winds! Didn't stay long, but water temp was 49-50. Hoping this warm weather towards the end of the week will help put some fish in the trees.
