What's your budget? And are you looking for SI, DI etc? Some really good deals out there on the 2nd generation Helix units, they are going fast though.

been looking at lowrance 7ti and 9 ti
also helix 9 si di mega chirp gps
lowrance seems like a nice unit def priced more reasonable
Budget aside the Helix would be best, but if budget is a issue those Ti units are pretty nice for the money. Biggest thing in my mind is being able to use the Lakemaster chart in the helix. I use the mapping on big 4 much more than the si/di

I just bought the Elite 7Ti chirp/si/di and it came with Nav+ and C-Maps for 499.00. Haven't mounted it yet but did play with it some in the garage. Seems like a good unit for the money.

most days I only have a few hours on the lake so I don't feel like spending time looking for them. I usually have an idea where they hang out. The GPS and mapping is more valuable to me than si or di. Have a 999 that never got put on my boat. Instead I use an old 597 and am stuck in my ways. If I had more time to hunt them I would do it differently.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.
For what it's worth I went helix-9 , would not again . Like the fish reveal feature on Lowrance .
