The big 4 habitat dates will be posted as soon as we find them. Enid is set as the first Saturday of February followed by the next 3. This year it was Enid, Sardis, Nader then Butla. High water, nasty weather knocked a lot of people from going to Sardis day, claim they had it. Nader and Butla canceled their's due to high water.
Plan a work day on a Saturday during January. Search for material that can be used without to much work and close to us. Wood and bamboo stakes 3 to 6 foot long work great. Pallets do good, but are a lot of work and take up to much space in a load.
Our last work day there were 4 of us for the better part of a morning. We cut bamboo into stakes, bundled about 20 together and filled a 4X8 trailer. The tops were loaded into our trucks, we have to clean up everything. We contacted Butla lake manager as to were to drop off tops. The stakes were stored on the trailers until a few days before habitat day then dropped in the area where we would be working.
Pick up Christmas trees the days after and store until they can be used. Ask a seller what they do with their trees after Christmas. We've had trees in the past that still had wraps on them.
